This week we worked mostly on our diagnostic tests.
We did overall a great job!
Diagnostic assessments are intended to help teachers identify what students know and can do in different domains to support their students' learning. These kinds of assessments may help teachers determine what students understand in order to build on the students' strengths and address their specific needs.
As we go, we are addressing needs which you will find in homework and mostly grammar and sentence structure in English.
In English : in addition to our grammar and dictation we started our literature book study - with the wimpy kid diary.
Literature is an important part of our learning experience.
During this time, as we read, we are learning how to find specific information in a book, it’s structure and we are learning how to use our grammar, spelling and sentence structure wisely.
In the afternoon, we kept working on our inquiry :
Who we are:
We have reviewed that we are unique, with special needs and dreams. We are part of a group : we have commun objectives: sharing culture and identity
And also part of a world, with objectives such as being safe, having accès to education and well being.
- in Art we are thinking about our unique features - we are made of differences - eg; our skin tone.
- in S.O.S.E / numeracy - we are inquiring about setting up a survey to learn about how happy we are.
-mindfulness : we are reflecting on how to set up SMART objectives and being aware of skills to put in place to reach our goals.
We are concluding this part of our inquiry next week in order to set up objectives for the rest of the year.
